BioThis LJ was set up in March 2005 as a space separate to my own LJ where I could write about my assorted BJDs. BJD stands for "ball jointed doll"; and these dolls (as their many afficionadoes would tell you) are rather special. If you're thinking of Barbies you are way, way wrong; these dolls are handcrafted things of beauty, hand-cast from resin, and standing on average 45cm (for the smaller MSDs, or Mini Super Dollfies) to 60cm (for the SD or Super Dollfie sized dolls) - some, such as the Hound and Bermann dolls from DollShe reach 72cm in height. They typically have over 17 points of articulation, and their appearance can be changed simply with a change of eyes or wig.
